over 500 families receive our food bags during lockdown!
Dear friends and partners,
Greetings from Moldova!
This is a quick update to let you know that the work of the Lord is continuing in spite of the lockdown. It’s uneasy times but we are so thankful that we’ve been able to safely visit over 500 families, blessing them in practical ways, especially with much-needed food.
Many of the elderly who used to come to the centre for the feeding programme are now not allowed to leave their homes, so we are making every effort to reach them with food and other necessary supplies.
Our city hospital is overflowing with people affected by the coronavirus and it’s unable to admit any more patients. A maternity hospital is now being reconfigured to taken on these emergency cases.
Could we ask you to pray for Andrei? We got to know this young man through his grandmother who attended our feeding programme. With his dad in prison, Andrei has lived a rough life of crime and addiction. He recently got into a terrible road accident and the bones in both his legs have been completely ruined. He received donor bones and is due to have an operation at a Moldovan hospital, but it is uncertain when that will be, given the current pandemic. Andrei has surrendered his life to Jesus and, in spite of his condition, has started work, is assisting his elderly mother and wisely keeping his distance from friends from his criminal past. We are praying for the healing touch of Jesus.
With much love from us all at Lumina :-)
