hope in a very bleak situation
Loving greetings from Moldova!
We are blessed to be a part of making people happy and of sharing the living Word with them … this Word that is the life-changing power of God for salvation. We thank everyone who has been a part of making it possible to keep going in these tough times. May Christ’s joy and grace be with you all.
We were able to visit several homes over the past weeks to cheer people up and hand out food bags, which are such a great help to many, especially during the harsh winter season.
The Moldovan reality still remains difficult - schools are on the decrease , some villages are nearly empty and people are fast losing hope that positive change will come. We would like to ask you to pray for our Government, for new people to step in, who will have caring hearts and the courage to take bold steps that will benefit regular folk.
The picture looks bleak and sometimes we can’t see signs of improvement. I remember a small smiling girl to whom we gave a Christmas gift box. Her father is not around and her mother, also absent, is a drug user. The girl looked inside the box, took out a nice doll and started shouting excitedly, “This is exaclty what I was dreaming of!“ Then she looked through the other items in the box, took out a big tube of toothpaste and said, “This, I will give to my mom! When she comes back … someday “.
This experience, and countless others, motivate us to keep reaching out to the lonely and needy with the love we ourselves receive from above.
With sincere love in Christ,
Mission Lumina Team
